چکیده

با توجه به نقش مثبت تماشای فیلم و سریال در یادگیری غیررسمی زبان انگلیسی که در پژوهش‌های بین‌المللی به اثبات رسیده است، هدف پژوهش حاضر پاسخ به پرسش‌هایی در خصوص موقعیت‌های مختلف یادگیری زبان انگلیسی در خارج از کلاس درس و نیز دیدگاه دانشجویان ایرانی در رابطه با جایگاه محصولات سینمایی در تقویت مهارت‌های زبان انگلیسی است. داده‌های تحقیق به دو صورت کمی و کیفی از طریق پرسش‌نامه و مصاحبه از میان دانشجویان سال اول کارشناسی رشته‌های مختلف جمع‌آوری شده است. نتایج کلی پژوهش حاکی از آن است که دانشجویان بسیاری به تماشای فیلم و سریال انگلیسی به‌صورت زبان اصلی و با کمک زیرنویس تمایل دارند. دیگر نتایج نیز مؤید این مسئله است که دانشجویان از میان فعالیت‌های خارج از کلاس درس از قبیل خواندن کتاب یا تماشای آنلاین ویدیوهای انگلیسی و ... در جهت یادگیری زبان انگلیسی، زمان بیش‌تری را به گوش کردن به آهنگ‌های انگلیسی و تماشای فیلم و سریال انگلیسی اختصاص می‌دهند. با توجه به اینکه اکثر شرکت‌کنندگان،  فیلم و سریال‌های خارجی را از طریق زیرنویس فارسی تماشا می‌کنند، به نظر می‌رسد زیرنویس بین‌زبانی در تقویت مهارت‌های زبانی و یادگیری تصادفی دارای اهمیت است. به‌علاوه زبان‌آموزان، تماشای فیلم و سریال انگلیسی را از سه نظر مثبت ارزیابی کردند: آشنایی با تلفظ واژگان، تقویت مهارت‌های شنیداری و افزایش دامنة واژگان.
