The Journal of Language and Translation Studies, published by Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, was initially printed under the title "Journal of the Faculty of Literature and Humanities, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad." Since 2009 (1388 in the Iranian calendar), according to the directive of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology ,regarding the specialization of journals based on academic disciplines, this journal has been published under the title "Language and Translation Studies" in the field of language studies. The journal is published in Persian and is freely accessible. The articles are anonymously peer-reviewed. This journal exclusively publishes data-driven articles in the fields of translation studies, literature, and foreign language teaching, and does not prioritize analytical articles, review articles, or book critiques. It should be noted that this quarterly journal does not accept articles in the domain of Arabic language studies, translation, and literature.
Open Access Policy
This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Licensing
The journal is fully compliant with open access mandates, by publishing its articles under "Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC-BY 4.0).
Article Publishing Charge
There is no pre-publication or submission charge. If the manuscript is accepted for publication, authors are required to pay 4,000,000 Rials for the costs arising from editing and publishing processes which is taken when the manuscript is accepted for publication. The corresponding author of the manuscript is responsible for paying the publication fee. Author fees does not influence editorial decision making.
Paper Plagiarism Checker
To prevent plagiarism, the Journal of Language and Translation Studies (LTS) uses the Hamyab system as similarity checker tool for the Persian articles and the iThenticate system for the Latin abstract of received articles. All articles before sending to the reviewers are checked for any similarity, and if the percentage of similarity is more than 20%, the article will be withdrawn from the review process.
Digital Preservation Policy
Website Archiving
All of our electronic content (website, manuscripts, etc.) is stored on two different sources. Content on one server is online and accessible to the readers. The copy of the same content is kept as a backup on one other sources. In case of failure of one server, any one of the other sources can be made online and website expected to be accessible within less than 24-36 hours.
Abstracting/Indexing Services
Original information and abstracts of articles published in the Journal of Language and Translation Studies are indexed in several databases. Also, in addition to the original information, the PDF version of all the articles is archived in the Islamic World Science Citation Database (ISC) as well as the Iranian Scientific Publications System.
Self-Archiving
Authors may archive the final published version of their articles in personal or institutional repositories immediately after publication.
Advertising
This Journal does not accept any advertising.
Direct marketing
There are no direct marketing activities in this journal.
Privacy Statement
The Names and Email addresses entered in this journal’s website will be used exclusively for the purposes of publishing the Journal and will not be available to any other person or organization.
Other revenues
Ferdowsi University of Mashhad as the publisher of the journal, supports it for each published issue by paying a defined budget according to its published annual rank in Portal of Scientific Journals of Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. The allocated budget includes those pertaining to setup and maintenance of the publication infrastructure, routine operation of the Journal, processing of manuscripts through peer-reviews, editing, publishing, maintaining the scholarly record, and archiving.
The other financial source of this journal is fees paid by authors whose articles have been accepted for publishing. Revenue sources do not influence on editorial decision making
