چکیده

در سال‌های اخیر، شمار زیادی از تحقیقات ادبی به بررسی بدن در ادبیات پرداخته‌اند. اگرچه بررسی بازنمایی بدن در ادبیات امری نوظهور نیست، پیدایش شاخه‌ای جدید از مطالعات بدن در جامعه‌شناسی در دهۀ هشتاد میلادی، بر محبوبیت موضوع بدن در مطالعات ادبی تأثیر گذاشت و پژوهش‌های این حوزه را دستخوش تغییر کرد. در این تحقیق بر آن هستیم تا با بررسی مفهوم بدن در جامعه‌شناسی بدن و تبیین تفاوت رویکرد جدید به بدن با رویکردهای گذشته و معرفی مختصر مطالعات جامعه‌شناسانِ سرشناس این حوزۀ پژوهشی، تصویری کلی از مطالعات بدن در جامعه‌شناسی و ارتباط و تأثیر این مطالعات در تحقیقات ادبی به‌دست بدهیم.
