Therefore, understanding the temporal dimension of the narratives leads to a profound recognition of both narratives and life which can be interpreted through textual signs. From this viewpoint, the present paper attempts to engage critically with Tom Stoppard, the contemporary British playwright who utilizes time-plays for conveying his thoughts. This study intends to deal with the hows and whys of the historical past in light of Paul Ricoeur’s narrative theory. Travesties, going under the sub-genre of ‘memory play’, put prominent figures of politics and literature from different times and places along with each other to reveal their outlooks by representing opposed discourses regarding the definitions of art. To examine temporality in the narrative, the genre of drama was chosen for the opposed discourses as this genre offers the opportunity to represent binary dialogues in a dialectic manner based on their spokesmen’s lived experiences. Thus, each concept is pitted against its ‘other’, some of them have been characters, schools of thought, or even dimensions of time. This openness to the ‘other’ points to morality, and consequently, the order resides in the narrative that this study reflects. In this regard, time is considered metaphorically to get a hermeneutic understanding of the narrative. For this purpose, the time-plays are interpreted with a narratological approach. Correlative is Ricoeur’s three phases of mimesis, memory, and forgetting, and the related ‘narrative time’ theory.}, keywords = {Narratology,narrative time,Memory Play,Forgetting,Hermeneutics}, title_fa = {بررسی استعاری زمان در روایت تقلیدهای انتقادی تام استوپارد با تأکید بر نظریّۀ ادبی پل ریکور}, abstract_fa = {ازآنجاکه ذهنیت انسان زمانمند است، عقایدی که به آن می‌اندیشد و رویدادهایی که به خاطر می‌آورد و روایت می‌کند نیز زمانمند هستند، بنابراین درک بُعد زمانی به شناخت عمیق‌تر ذهن انسان، روایت‌های او و درنهایت شناخت زندگی می‌انجامد. این مهم از طریق تفسیر نشانه‌های متنی که او می‌آفریند صورت می‌پذیرد. از این منظر، تام استوپارد، نمایشنامه‌نویس معاصر انگلیسی، که از بازی‌های زمانی در جهت بیان اندیشه‌های خود استفاده می‌کند، مورد مطالعه قرار گرفته است. نمایشنامۀ تقلیدهای انتقادی او در قالب نمایشنامۀ حافظه، با کنار هم نهادن شخصیّت‌های ادبی‑هنری و سیاسی، به مفهوم هنر از دیدگاه‌های آنان می‌پردازد و گفتمان‌های متناقضی را در برابر خواننده بازنمایی می‌کند. در این پژوهش، گفتمان‌های متضاد به‌صورت گفتگوهای دوبه‌دو در نظر گرفته شده است به‌گونه‌ای که هر مفهومی با مفهوم «دیگریِ» خود در مقابله قرار داده شده که گاه شخصیّت‌ها و گاه مکاتب فکری یا حتّی بُعدی از زمان هستند. پژوهش‌های مرتبط با موضوع این مقاله بیشتر در زمینۀ بررسی هویّت و یا عناصر پوچ‌گرائی و پسامدرن از طریق شخصیّت‌پردازی بوده است و هیچ‌یک با دیدگاه زمانی به بررسی این نمایشنامه نپرداخته‌اند. هدف پژوهش حاضر تفسیر معنا از طریق استعاری تلّقی کردن زمان در سطح گفتمان بر مبنای رهیافت هرمنوتیکی است و با کاربست نظریّۀ «روایی پل ریکور» به بررسی چرایی و چگونگی بُعد زمانی می‌پردازد. این پژوهش با تأکید بر تکنیک‌های بلاغی نویسنده و با استناد بر نظریّۀ «سه‌گانۀ محاکات» و نیز مفهوم «فراموشی و حافظه» از دیدگاه ریکور با روش تحلیلی‑کیفی و با رویکرد روایت‌شناسانه، نظم و ساختار را از خلال بی‌نظمی‌ها و بازی‌های زمانی این نمایشنامه بررسی و نشان می‌دهد.}, keywords_fa = {روایت‌شناسی,زمان روایی,نمایشنامۀ حافظه,فراموشی,هرمنوتیک}, url = {https://jlts.um.ac.ir/article_40549.html}, eprint = {https://jlts.um.ac.ir/article_40549_a814990e40a0e876c7b9f9d62e1c98b8.pdf} }
