One of the indispensable components of communicative competence, which is highly influenced by L2 teachers’ ICC and its impact on the classroom practices is considerable, is pragmatic knowledge of the L2 learners. Accordingly, the current investigation has sought to explore the relationship between L2 teachers’ intercultural competence and their students’ knowledge of common English speech acts. Participants were 85 EFL teachers and 610 upper-intermediate to advanced proficiency-level students. The participants had been studying English at language institutes from 3 to 5 years and they had almost completed American File conversation book series. These participants were selected based on the results of a Michigan Language Proficiency Test. First, the teachers filled out Jaou’s (2011) ICC questionnaire. Then, Tajeddin and Malmir’s (2015) multiple-choice test of frequent English speech acts was administered to the students. Data analysis using multiple regression revealed that all four components of teachers’ ICC were significant predictors of their students’ speech-act knowledge. Intercultural skills were the strongest predictor followed by intercultural knowledge as a mediocre predictor. However, intercultural attitudes and awareness were poor predictors of speech-act knowledge. These findings imply that L2 teachers can enhance their learners’ pragmatic knowledge regarding common speech acts by increasing their own intercultural communicative competence.}, keywords = {Culture,Intercultural Communicative Competence (ICC),Pragmatic Competence,Speech act}, title_fa = {رابطه بین توانش تعامل بینافرهنگی معلمان زبان‌خارجه و دانش منظورشناختی زبان‌آموزان در زمینه کنش‌های‌کلامی پربسامد انگلیسی}, abstract_fa = {توانش بینافرهنگی معلمان زبان خارجه و درک و آگاهی آنان از تفاوت‌ها و تشابهات بین‌فرهنگی یکی از عوامل تعیین‌کننده در موفقیت حرفه‌ای آنهاست. یکی از زیرمجموعه‌های توانش تعاملی که تاثیر بسیار زیادی از دانش بینافرهنگی معلمان و کاربرد آن در آموزش کلاسی می‌پذیرد، دانش منظورشناختی است. بنابراین، مطالعۀ حاضر تلاش کرده‌است رابطۀ بین توانش بینافرهنگی‌ تعاملی معلمان زبان خارجه و میزان دانش منظورشناختی زبان‌آموزان آنها را در زمینۀ کنش‌های کلامی پربسامد مورد بررسی قرار دهد. مشارکت‌کنندگان، 85 معلم زبان انگلیسی  و 610 زبان‌آموز ایرانی سطح متوسطه بالا و پیشرفته آنها بودند و بین 4  تا ۷ سال زبان انگلیسی را در موسسات آموزشی مطالعه کرده و کتاب مکالمه آمریکایی امریکن فایلرا به اتمام رسانده بودند. برای جمع‌آوری داده‌ها، پرسشنامه توانش تعامل بینافرهنگی ژائو (2011) توسط 85 معلم زبان انگلیسی تکمیل شد و سپس 610 زبان‌آموز متوسطه بالا و پیشرفته زبان انگلیسی موسسات هدف، به آزمون سه‌ گزینه‌ای کنش‌های کلامی پربسامد انگلیسی تاج‌الدین و مالمیر (2015) پاسخ دادند. تجزیه وتحلیل داده‌ها با استفاده از رگرسیون چندمنظوره روشن ساخت که بین میزان توانش بینافرهنگی معلمان زبان خارجه و دانش کنش‌های کلامی آنها رابطۀ مستقیم و معناداری وجود داشت. طبق نتایج این مطالعه، برای ارتقاء توانش منظورشناختی زبان‌آموزان می‌بایست معلمان زبان خارجه توانش بینافرهنگی خود را از تفاوت‌ها و تشابهات زبان خارجه و زبا‌ن مادری زبان‌آموزان گسترش دهند.}, keywords_fa = {توانش تعامل بینافرهنگی,توانش منظورشناختی,کنش‌های‌کلامی پربسامد,فرهنگ}, url = {https://jlts.um.ac.ir/article_39522.html}, eprint = {https://jlts.um.ac.ir/article_39522_611cfb06f6d27e94e393f1c43be77d7c.pdf} }
